Baby Shower Picture Show
November 23rd, 2007 Posted 4:43 pm
I was playing around on the computer and decided to make a picture video of the photos from Bella’s baby shower in Jacksonville and Charlotte. Most of the pictures in this clip are from the Charlotte shower because I don’t have any video of that one.
Peek-A-Boo
November 20th, 2007 Posted 8:22 am
So many people have told us that this age is the best because they’re still the cuddly baby but they also begin to interact more with you. We totally believe it!
Bella and I were out shopping for Thanksgiving week groceries on Sunday, while her Dad was home putting up Christmas decorations (Thank God he didn’t kill himself while on that 3 story roof). She was awake the entire shopping trip but instead of fussing about being in her car seat, she played and talked with me the entire time-we had so much fun. When we had checked out and were lugging the cart back to the car, I noticed it had gotten dark and cold and were halfway to the car before I realized I hadn’t put her blanket on her and cover her head to keep her warm. I grabbed the blanket real quick and threw it on her. We got to the car a few seconds later, I opened the trunk and reached back to the cart to pick up some bags, she made this noise like she was really trying to get my attention. When I quickly looked over there to check on her, she starting laughing out loud because she got so tickled. She had pulled the blanket halfway off her face and was staring at me just waiting to scare me. Can you believe she was actually playing peek-a-boo with me? When I realized what she was doing, I had to indulge her and dramatize it of course. I am overjoyed to have such a darling sweetie as our baby.
Paul found the video of her birth last night and also of her first feeding at my breast. Not too many gruesome details on the birth part but a really good shot of the delivery and some really sweet shots on the feeding portion-both are probably staying in our private vaults though as the internet isn’t the place I want such videos to be. Paul promised he would not tape over them.
Her sleeping has been a little off recently. I’m not sure if she’s growing, getting used to the time change, our messing with her schedule by not putting her to bed early enough or too early with our busy schedules, or if my milk drying up isn’t allowing her enough milk to sleep thru the night. I started taking some herbs yesterday to help increase milk supply again-pumping at work is hard when you have to find the time between all the stuff that needs to be done. My employer doesn’t mind me taking the time to do it, it’s just making the time that I have to force myself to do. I’m hoping my milk supply will last until she’s a year old. I’ll probably increase the amount of cereal we give her when she’s 6 months old.
Speaking of eating, Paul wanted to test out her drinking from a glass the other day and she wasn’t half bad at it. He picked up a sippy cup for her at Babies R Us this weekend and he gave it to her last night with water in it. She’s a pro! Now that we know she can hold the bottle/cup, if we can just get her to hold and tilt up…

Rolling over
November 14th, 2007 Posted 8:09 am
What’s new with Bella you might ask? She’s getting bigger every minute and we can’t help falling more and more in love with her every day. With Bella coming up on her 6 month birthday, we’ve heard that 6 months is when they can become spoiled by our reactions to her behavior–boy we are in trouble!
A few weeks ago Bella started rolling over on her side but last week, we would lay her on the floor on her back, leave the room for a few minutes and come back, then she’d be on her stomach having tummy time. On Friday at daycare, the teacher said she rolled over several times for her. Since then, we’ve seen her do it a hundred times and we all really get a kick out of it each time.
Bella Rose loves to stand for long periods of time in her exersaucer, playing with the toys and turning herself around in a circle-with very little support from the seat itself. I thought she might be ready for standing in front of the little piano we bought her and playing on the keys. While she isn’t tall enough to enjoy standing and playing, I did sit with her on the floor in front of it and let her reach to the keys and play with them. WOW! It didn’t take her long to get the hang of it and really start making some music. She got so excited, she would talk and squeal with every note-I mean sing with every note. It was a last minute thought of letting her play with it so no video (she was going ‘cool booty’ at the time) but the maybe we’ll try it again tonight and catch the beautiful smile, music and singing she does with her piano. I’ll try to tune it up first though-it’s about 60 years old…
