What a big helper she is!
April 27th, 2008 Posted 9:08 pm
This afternoon Bella decided she wanted to help me with the laundry. She would stand up in front of the dryer and lean on the opened door for balance. I’d hand her a piece, she’d waive around for a second or two and then I’d help her throw it in, saying ‘wheeeehhhh!’ together everytime. We had a blast! When it was all over, it was probably an hour later but I was sad it was over. I guess there will be a few more times like this with her before she gets old enough to hate doing laundry-then I’m back to doing it by myself:). Such a sweet moment reminded me that I had not been doing a good job of keeping up with her progress on her blog this past month.
Bella had a fantastic Easter. As you can see on the March slideshow, she was beautiful in her floral dress. It was a little chilly here so we had to hunt eggs inside but she didn’t care. After we returned from church that morning, Paul hid the dyed eggs in the living room (laying around the floor to make it easy). Bella had found the first egg and wanted to eat it all up by the time I realized the dye comes off really fast and gets on everything when it gets that intense baby saliva on it. We quickly picked up all the dyed eggs and put down the plastic ones I had in the closet. She liked those just as much-and no mess on her pretty dress. She still hadn’t learned to let go of things so the whole eggs in the basket thing didn’t work but we all had a great time on the floor anyway.
Bella had her second tooth come thru the gums last weekend-a birthday present for me. She had a low grade fever all week long but she also had a cough, stuffy nose and vomited a few times so I don’t think it was related to the tooth-our pumpkin was just sick. I think everytime I get sick and have to stay home from work, she gets jealous and wants to stay home with Mama. She’s a really sweet sick patient so I love it.
We’ve been working with Bella on waving Hi and Bye but she is really only consistent with it when you pick her up off the floor of daycare in the afternoon. She knew that when Mama comes to pick me up, I’m outta here. Then she either raises her hand to get High5 from her teacher or she’ll smack her tongue and lips for kisses-my favorite is the kisses thing. She’s been walking with help for a while now but she can stand on her own for several seconds now and I swear she’s more like running than walking. It wears out Paul and I-shows our age I guess, maybe we just need to work out more – nah!
I should really do this more often because my mind is letting all the milestone memories slip away. I do have to share this one last thing before I sign off for today. Bella was playing with Paul upstairs today for a long while so I could get some cleaning done downstairs. So when I came upstairs to play, I had this great idea to get her to crawl under the pool table with me and treat it like a fort. She followed me right under there because Paul had been playing under there with her already. However, she didn’t like the small space so she turbo-crawled from one side to the other and sat up and giggled when she got out on the other side. We did that for about 20 minutes it seemed and Paul joined in with all the crawling and giggling too.
We’re all still having a great time and finding a little bit of time to work here and there. Ctl+Alt+Del – Paul, you know what I mean:)

042108 – Suspect Bella doesn’t care about the stories
April 21st, 2008 Posted 11:26 pm
Every nightr before bed we give Bella a big bottle of milk and read her a story. Lately it has seemed that maybe she doesn’t care so much about the stories so as a test I modified the story a little to see if she could tell – didn’t seem like she noticed.

040608 – April traumatizing Bella

This was one of those instances where the playing around starts great and then for whatever reason things turn out to be not so great…
040508 – Experimenting with utensils

As Bella gets better at feeding herself, we;ve been experimenting with ways for her to eat. Here we gave her a spoon and you can see how that turned out…
040508 – Attack of the big blue ball

Bella favorite toys are balls. Big bouncy balls, little rolly balls, doesn’t matter.

There used to be a time when you could put Bella down somewhere, come back a few minutes later, and she’d still be right where you left her. While she can’t walk yet, those times are long gone. If you take your eyes off of Bella for more than a few seconds, she’s likely to disappear.
