Halloween-2nd but really 1st
October 31st, 2008 Posted 9:15 pm
The week of Halloween, Bella and Paul were pretty sick but while Bella just couldn’t keep her food down and otherwise fine, Dad was truly ill come October 31st. However, we had planned on dressing up together and he said he wasn’t about to miss her first real Halloween for anything. I dressed up as Dorothy from Wizard of Oz, Paul dressed up as the Scarecrow and Bella was the lion-who said ‘wooooaaaw’ for the sweetest lion’s roar you’ve ever heard.
We placed her red wagon in the back of the Lexus-hanging out the back but at least it fit:). We road to the nearest neighborhood where a co-worker of Paul lives and makes a big deal of decorating for this occasion. Bella was hesitant at first with all the folks hanging out in their front yards but since we went out early, the smaller kids were still at home handing out the candy. Since Bella loves kids, she was more interested in playing with them than the fact they were giving her hand-fulls of candy. You’ll see pics of how scary Paul’s co-worker was dressed up later on but just so you all know, he was very impressed with the fact that Bella was not scared of him one bit. She even gave him a big ‘high-five’ on his big bony skeleton hand too. They gave us hot chocolate, took some great pics of the 3 of us together (thanks Brenda and Al), we enjoyed their great decorations and we went onto trick-or-treating. She could say ‘knock-knock’ but we could never get her to say anything that remotely resembled ‘trick-or-treat’ though. Oh well, folks were too enamored with how adorable she was to notice that minute detail.
Bella made it about 40 minutes before an instant meltdown occured. The instant it began, we put her back in the wagon and strolled back to the car. She was great on the way back to the car, she could enjoy the other children without having to exert any energy (that’s my girl) but by the time we had pulled out of that neighborhood, she was fast asleep-we have pics of that too:). What a great lion she was! Can’t wait for next year.
