Bella’s becoming her own person

Every day Bella shows us more and more of her personality and how much she is becoming so independent.  On Sunday after church, I asked Paul to watch Bella ride her tricycle around while I made lunch.  He graciously accepted and bounced outside after changing her into the cutest outfit-but that’s another story entirely.  I cooked a little lunch and they were just coming back in as I was about to serve it.  While Paul was recounting stories of outside play, we didn’t even realize it until it was over but Bella had gone into the drawer where I keep the table cover for the picnic table (which we lay down on the deck sometimes to have ‘picnics’ when we eat lunch or snacks outside).  She pulled it out, took it to her playroom (AKA the sunroom) and began laying it out on the floor.  Paul noticed it first and asked her what she was doing.  She said ‘I make a picnic to eat lunch with Mama, Daddy and Bella’.  We both could have eaten her up that very second because she was so cute and creative.  Of course, we had to oblige and she helped me set the utensils and napkins for everyone to enjoy our ‘picnic’.  She will be a good hostess one day.

By the way, potty time is going well.  I am beginning to track how dry she stays during nap time to see if we begin weaning her off pull-ups during naps.  Night time is next but small steps first… I love you my Miss Independent.

Bella’s First Carnival

Okay, it wasn’t a full carnival but it might as well have been one.  Paul and I took Bella to Denver Days last Thursday night.  It had a drive-in theatre with a shag contest and an old car show.  There were rides of all kinds with games and cotton candy and candied apples.  We picked up a wrist band for Bella so she could ride as many times as she wanted (we were hoping that she really liked these things called carnival rides:).
