Up until last night, Ella had been sleeping 5 to 6 hours at a time at night. Last night, I put the girls down around 9 and while Bella woke up at 4 w a bad dream, Ella didn’t wake up until 4:30. Not bad for our ten week old sweetie.

March 5th

Bella, Dad and I dropped her off around 8:30 in the morning and I told them I’d be back to pick her up around 4. Paul looked at me like I was crazy but I knew I had to hold out that long in order to make it thru my first day back at work on the 6th. I teared up when I kissed her goodbye but then rushed from the room before I actually lost my composure. While I did miss her throughout the day, I continued to keep myself busy so I wouldn’t dwell on it too long. Before I knew it, the day had passed and it was time to pick up the girls. I rushed to the school, picked up Bella and hurried down the hall to get my other baby. When I first saw her lying on the floor, I thought she looked so unhappy but then I talked with the teachers and realized she only slept about 2 hours all day long. Later on, I realized I had forgotten to bring her favorite pink blanket. Silly Mommy didn’t realize she had gotten attached to any particular one. She is a princess that is for sure. She then slept all night long for the first time and it was perfect timing for my first day back to work. Now she sleeps a good 6-7 hours at a time every night. She is up to drinking 4oz at a time.

Boy you can really tell she loves having a sister. First time she saw the new Family Dollar logo, she began calling it the Daddy, Mommy, Bella, Ella store. I will not be the one to tell her any different and neither will you. She will be able to read it herself in the next few years….:-) .

Went over a friends house to take professional photos of new baby. Ella did great but after 6hrs of manipulating her into weird positions she finally said enough is enough and pee’d on the prop couch. Pics turned out great though. See for yourself…..

So she had her 2 month checkup last week and she now weighs 11 lbs and 12 oz and measures 24.5 inches long. Her vaginal adhesion isn’t healed yet but the doctor will monitor it at the 4mth checkup. The baby acne and dry skin was not caused by the estrogen cream she is taking and is almost gone. I believe washing her face daily or more with baby lotion is helping our cause. She can do all the things she is supposed to be doing. She is a pro at holding her head up. I’m sure it is that freakish upper body strength her dad is always claiming I have.

Words and their meanings:

Tensils: the things you eat with.
Big Phone: the new thing that Dad bought for his birthday that plays movies on it (yes, Paul, we’re trying NOT to call your Motorola an iPad but it’s sooo hard).
Pink Tails: Having two ponytails in my hair instead of just one.
Pumpkin Day: That day when I get to dress up as Pinkalicious and everyone decorates with pumpkins. Mom, why don’t we have any pumpkins yet. Let’s go buy some from Wal-Mart or that big yard down the street that has bunches of them on tables. By the way, did you know I dreamed about white pumpkins last night? I was a princess named Peach and I was married to my cousin Ben, …… (yes, for those of you without children, this is a great example of how one small idea can lead to a non-stop conversation, totally one sided, between you and your 4 year old-I’m sure it’s just a girl thing but I could be wrong. I’ve tried to tell Paul she gets that from him but I have to admit it, she probably got it from me. If she got it from Paul, you’d most likely see his postings on her blog all the time instead of my ramblings on and on. God bless Paul and the additional girl in the household he’ll have very soon.)
Totally off subject-we were on the phone with Paul today since he’s out of town, when Bella said something so sweet but not really. We were discussing how Bella was on Yellow with the behavior chart and since I had already told Paul about it earlier in the day, by the time the ‘going to bed’ phone call took place, when she told him about Yellow, he said he knew. I was also trying to tell her that he knew but her reply was, of course he knows Mom, he knows everything. I said, that’s right and so does Mom. She quickly corrected me saying, no Mom, only Dad knows everything. I dropped it since I’m not gonna battle with that, as long as she thinks one of us knows everything, it doesn’t really matter which one. Yes, Paul, you owe me big time for caving on that one. Love you both!

Words of wisdom from Bella:

So yes, we let Bella name the baby. Official name is Ella Maegann Lee. Ella was Bella’s idea and Maegann is the combination of my mother’s middle name Mae and Paul’s mother’s middle name Ann. Put a ‘g’ in the middle and voila you have Maegann. A few other thoughts from Bella were Uni Corn-thanks to Paul’s nudging on that one. Elise, which I reminded her that even Mommie has a hard time spelling so we’d steered clear of that one. Just tonight it was changed to Viva, as in Viva Las Vegas from the ZZ Top song. We talked about it being one of my favorite songs because it sounded so much like an old Elvis song and she thought the Viva part would make a great name for the baby. Every time they sang the words Viva Las Vegas, she would sing Baaabbyy Viva instead. Cute!

How often do you hear from a 4 yr old when they’ve finished their dinner—Mommy, do we have any more vegetables? Yes, Bella loves her vegetables so much that even though I gave her as much as I gave her Dad and I, she still wanted more. Then, go figure, when I told her I’d be happy to make her some more, she asked if they were frozen, really really frozen? Of course, they were I said. She reminded me how much she loves frozen vegetables (thanks Dad for getting her hooked by feeding her frozen corn from the bag) and she ate another ½ cup of mixed vegetables straight from the bag.
Oh dearest Bella, with your being our dream child, what is possibly in store for us with the next sweetie coming along? God help us all…
